Hi I’m Andy, and I run RC Model Composites.
I’ve loved planes for as long as I can remember and have been building Radio Controlled models since I was a small child. I built my first flyable model aged 8, and have been obsessed ever since.
As soon as I was old enough I learned to fly, getting my PPL in 1986 and I was a Captain for Emirates when I built my first Jet model.
In 2009 I retired from flying to spend more time with my family, and spend more time on my own projects ( flying a 1943 Harvard for one). Since then I have put together a pretty fantastic workshop. I’ve got vacuum extraction, CNC machines, engravers, a negative pressure spraying booth, and much much more. I started out making custome parts from carbon fibre I bought in, but pretty quicly I realised that I could make better quality carbon fibre myself, to whatever specifications I needed for the job in hand.
I specialise in coloured carbon fibre, with unusual finishes, but if black is your thing I’m happy to work with that too.
Because of the complexity of the CNC set-up I have Im able to make pretty much anything you need, all I need is an accurate scale drawing with one measurement. If you’re looking for something I’ve already made once, like engine baffles, or mounts, you don’t even need to provide the picture.
If you’ve got a project you’d like to discuss, or just want to talk about planes, get in touch! I’d love to hear from you.
